CeeDee Lamb says he’s not worried about his contract

With his rookie contract about to expire, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb says he isn’t overly concerned about an extension.

As for contract discussions, Lamb said he delegated them to his agent, and he’s focused solely on getting ready to play.

His range is full. I want the best for me and I just want to make sure everything is right. And when it is, please let me know what you need. As for that, I’ll just keep working, keep building this bond with my guys, and we’ll try to kick things off well in September.”

As one of the Cowboys’ most valuable players, Lamb has increased his production in each of his three NFL seasons. Last year, he received more than twice the number of yards as any other Cowboy. Eventually, he’s going to cash in on the value he provides, but he doesn’t sound too eager to do so.

CeeDee Lamb reveals approach to ongoing contract negotiations

It must be difficult for a player to attend training camp while contract negotiations are in progress. It is reasonable to assume that the status of negotiations would stay on the mind of most until a deal is reached. While preparing for the season, Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb seems not to be the least bit concerned about what’s happening with his contract talks.

When Lamb was asked about contract negotiations, Jon Machota of The Athletic revealed that the 24-year-old does not ask his agent to keep him updated constantly. While he remains focused on being ready for Week 1, he wants his agent to bring him the offer when it is “right.

I told him [agent] he has full range. I just want the best of the best for me and make sure everything is right. And when it’s right, don’t hesitate to contact me. Besides that, I’m going to keep working, keep building with my guys, and let’s make sure September gets off to a good start,” Lamb said.

While Lamb’s approach is impressive, what makes it even more notable is that his teammate, Trevon Diggs, just signed a five-year, $97 million extension earlier this week.

The likelihood that things are going to become rocky seems highly unlikely when all factors are considered, so looking at it from the other end, Lamb is going to receive a huge contract extension. In the off-season, Lamb has built an incredible bond with quarterback Dak Prescott. It would be a major plot twist if Dallas threw a wrench into what should be a very promising 2023 season.
